Muddy Mamas is a yearly event that donates 100% of its proceeds to support programming needs at Girls Incorporated of Washington County. This fundraising event consists of women and girls only participants and focuses on one key message: empowerment! Every year, women, mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters and friends come together to inspire strength and accomplishment through a fun-filled, adrenaline pumping day at the mud spa.
While the 19 course obstacle provides invigorating challenges for participants, Muddy Mamas had some of their own marketing challenges they wanted to address as they approached their seventh annual event.
Focusing on the resources Muddy Mamas had built over the previous 6 years, we started by implementing a moodboard that would reflect an energetic, female-focused, action-packed brand package. This moodboard took into account images that the various area photographers had supplied over the years, logos, typography, color and texture.
The biggest challenge ahead was reshaping the website to ensure visitors were having a pleasant digital experience – and with campaign kickoff and registration opening only a handful of days away, we had to act fast!
Ensuring the website would be capable of tracking data, converting visitors into followers and promoting strong, content-focused marketing campaigns – we decided that a ground-up refresh was the best way forward to ensure every marketing dollar spent would produce maximum return on investment.
Throughout the campaign, we even created Spotify playlists that people could jam to while training for the big day, or simply to get them into the mindset while they were carpooling the kids to soccer practice.
