Valley Obesity Medicine & Diabetes

Marketing Consulting for Medical Practices

Marketing Strategy That Grew With the Practice

As Valley Obesity Medicine & Diabetes gained momentum, the marketing challenge began to change. The practice no longer needed to simply introduce itself to the community—it needed to build relationships, stay visible and turn growing awareness into long-term engagement.

When Lisa Peterson joined the effort to help manage community outreach and marketing, LovelyPixels’ role increasingly became one of strategic guidance: giving VOMD’s internal team the tools, data and direction to confidently carry the brand forward.

Rather than keeping every marketing function dependent on our agency, we worked collaboratively with Lisa and Dr. Li to identify what made sense for VOMD to manage internally and where LovelyPixels could provide the greatest strategic value.

We discussed content cadence, website publishing, community events, patient referrals, review generation, educational resources and opportunities to extend Dr. Li’s philosophy of “medicine outside the exam room.”

That included developing a three-year content calendar, planning an expanding Weight Loss Resource Center, identifying dozens of potential educational topics, and training the VOMD team to manage website content themselves. As responsibilities transitioned internally, our reporting became an important roadmap—helping Lisa see what patients were searching for, how they were finding the practice and where future outreach could have the greatest impact.

Our consulting also went beyond traditional digital marketing.

Monthly conversations explored community wellness fairs, screenings and consultations, referral programs, patient testimonials, review-generation strategies, seasonal campaigns, local partnerships and even ideas like organized hikes and a community-facing pounds-lost initiative. The goal was to connect VOMD’s marketing with the experience Dr. Li wanted to create for patients—not simply generate more promotional content.

As the practice grew, we also used analytics to help guide decisions. We monitored patient acquisition patterns, calls, appointment clicks, Google Business Profile activity, organic search performance and referral behavior while discussing operational questions such as retention, no-shows, patient communication and capacity. By March, VOMD was already approaching 40 appointments per week and considering additional providers, making marketing increasingly intertwined with broader business planning.

For LovelyPixels, successful consulting didn’t mean making VOMD dependent on us.

It meant helping Lisa and the VOMD team build the confidence, systems and insight to become great marketers for their own practice – while giving them an experienced strategic partner to help determine what should come next.
