Proof on Washington

Web Design for Restaurants

A Digital Experience with Plenty of Proof

When tackling this website build, we new it needed to do more than just tell people where to find a phenominal dinner in Berkeley Springs, WV.

LovelyPixels’ creative team set out to translate the restaurants complete brand experience to a digital experience – one that would help people anticipate what it will feel like as they walk through the door, settle into the lounge and turn the pages of the Whiskey Ledger to pick out their favorite pour.

Combining custom photography, flavorful copywriting, local storytelling, strategic SEO and thoughtful, intnetional web design – it feels unmistakenly Proof from the first click.

Rather than leaning into predictable red, white and blue Americana – LovelyPixels built an identity that feels darker, warmer, masculine and established – as though Proof had been serving travelers on Washington Street for generations.

End to End Creative Direction

Amber and Jessi took lead on the website’s creative direction from end to end, including photography and copywriting to ensure consistency and harmony through every touchpoint.

Moody food photography captures the restaurants low-lit, elevated tavern atmosphere, while the writing blends confident, slightly rebellious personality traits into the dish names, call to actions and headers. Instead of giving website visitors predictable restaurant copy – we give visitors something they can almost taste!

One of Trent’s favorite pieces of the website was developing a creative lore strategy around Proof on Washington’s connection to historic Bath and George Washington. The story hones in on George Washingtons Lost Whiskey Ledger, and became a thread that weaves throughout the entire digital experience. Menus become ledgers. Whiskey becomes something to discover. Calls to action become invitations to raise a galss, follow the story and indulge in a little bit of history. The resulting website is rich with personality and rewards visitors who go exploring beyond the homepage.

Behind all of that Personality is a Serious Search Strategy

Our strategy team structured the website to build a stronger organic search presnce for the restaurant and it’s feature offerings, ensuring it ranks well for people searching for places to eat, unique flavors, whiskeys, cocktails, brunch and more.

Rather than treating the menu as a single static PDF – a common missed opportunity for restaurant websites – we created indexable content that gives both guests and search engines a deeper understanding of what Proof offers.

That balance is what makes the website one of our favorite parts of the Proof brand.

It doesn’t sacrifice flavor for SEO or strategy for creativity. Every photograph, headline, menu description, historical reference, and search-focused page works together as part of the same system.

The finished website isn’t simply an online menu. It’s the digital front door to Proof on Washington – designed to make you curious, make you hungry, and give you one more reason to spend some time in historic Bath.
