Proof on Washington

Local SEO for Restaurants

Pushing Real-World Foot Traffic Through the Front Doors

If you own or manage a restaurant like Proof on Washington, then Local SEO isn’t about just about vanity metrics like impressions. It’s about being visible when it matters (when people are hangrily searching for food) and being enticing enough to get them to visit.

LovelyPixels’ strategy team, lead by Trent – focused on a local search strategy that pushed more menu views, website visits, calls and – more importantly – people walking through their front door.

Step one of the strategy was builing a strong connection between Proof on Washington’s Google Business Profile, prominence on Google and Apple Maps, website architecture, menu content and the way people intuitively search for places to eat.

Instead of optimizing exclusively for the restaurants name, we expanded its organic footprint aroudn high-intent searches for restauraunts, food nearby, Berkeley Springs dining, burgers and sandwiches, steaks and seafood, BBQ and smoked meats, whiskey and American comfort food.

We also made the menu work harder.

Rather than hiding valuable restaurant content inside of a PDF or single page menu, we expanded the site footprint with searchable, indexable menu and individual dish content that created more opportunities for Google to understand exactly what Proof has to offer.

And the results have been anything but subtle.

In July 2026, Proof’s Google Business Profile generated 36,277 views – a 324% increase year over year – and appeared in 23,928 searches, up 281% YoY. Those weren’t empty impressions. Guests generated 4,419 interactions, including 2,273 website visits, 971 menu views, 848 requests for directions, and 327 phone calls.

The momentum continued in August 2026, with another 30,133 Google Business Profile views, up 161% year over year, and 4,410 measurable interactions. That included 2,250 website clicks, 1,052 menu interactions, 887 direction requests, and 221 calls.

Now this is where strategy started showing up in the register.

In Q3 2026, Proof on Washington grew net sales 35.9% year over year, driven by a 35.2% increase in orders – not by dramatically raising prices. The average check increased just 3.2%, which means the overwhelming majority of that growth came from more transactions and more people choosing Proof.

That is an extraordinary result in the current restaurant environment.

For context, U.S. restaurant sales were running only about 5% above the prior year as of July 2026, while the National Restaurant Association projects just 1.3% inflation-adjusted industry growth for 2026.

West Virginia isn’t riding a massive population boom either – the state actually experienced a slight population decline in 2025. Against that backdrop, 35.9% YoY sales growth isn’t normal market lift – it’s Proof materially outperforming the environment around it. When we connect that performance to the dramatic gains we’ve already seen in Google visibility, website traffic, menu engagement, direction requests, brand recognition, and ongoing advertising, the bigger picture becomes clear: the branding and marketing ecosystem isn’t simply generating impressions. It’s generating demand – and that demand is turning into butts in seats, orders on the table, and measurable revenue growth.

Search visibility has also helped reinforce Proof's broader reputation online.

By June, the restaurant had reached the #1 restaurant position in Berkeley Springs on Google Places, Yelp and Tripadvisor, carrying a 4.9-star rating.

For us, that’s the real value of Local SEO: not chasing rankings for the sake of rankings, but creating a connected ecosystem where search visibility leads directly to action.

Proof’s combination of technical SEO, locally focused content, optimized menu architecture, reputation building, and a carefully managed local presence has helped turn a relatively new restaurant into a highly visible answer to one of Berkeley Springs’ most valuable questions: “Where are we eating tonight?”
